National security is a top priority for Canadians. This highlights the need for contributions of Canadian youth to international security dialogues and their increasing role within NATO.
In January 2025, YPC sent a delegation to the White House in Washington D.C. to receive a briefing, in conjunction with other organizations and think tanks, from the National Security Council and the White House. The delegation then took this information back to Canada to deliver a report to the Federal Government.
The National Security Task Force also participated in other high--profile engagements focused on strengthening cross-border collaboration on national security and enhancing youth involvement in policymaking between Canada and the U.S. This delegation proved that young people can, at a time when the Canada-US relationship was under stress, can have these crucial conversations about both countries' futures.
This initiative was only made possible by the joint efforts of the White House, NATO Canada, YATA-NATO Canada and YPC.
