About Us
About Us
The Young Politicians of Canada Alberta chapter is dedicated to giving young people across Alberta the tools they need to effectively take part in civic engagement.
We create opportunities for youth to engage in meaningful discussions about current issues, connect with leaders, and develop the confidence to participate in politics and advocacy regardless of political affiliation. YPC Alberta is committed to making your ideas come to life and is currently planning many new projects and initiatives. Our mission is simple: empower young people to understand their voices, use them confidently, and help shape the future of their communities.
Our Work
Our Work
Over the past year, YPC Alberta has led several youth-focused initiatives aimed at amplifying student voices and encouraging community involvement. In March 2025, we hosted the Alberta Youth Summit: a networking event between political leaders and students along with an informative panel discussion.
In addition to events, was one of our most impactful projects: the Your Voice Matters campaign. During the 2025 Alberta teacher strike, we provided students across the province with a platform to share their experiences and perspectives and concerns they felt about the strike and the current education system. The campaign gained significant online traction, with 100,000 views, and helped highlight the importance of including youth voices in conversations that directly affect them.
In summer 2026, working with ECHOFORM, we hosted an event series in Calgary called the "Artivism Project" exploring where art and advocacy meet. Many youth are uncomfortable or unsure of expressing themselves politically through meetings, speeches, or other traditional political means. These workshops provided youth with a different mechanism, art, by which to express their political opinion.
To organize these workshops, YPC Alberta partnered with local non-profits, including Project Therapeía and YYC Human Rights Collective.
