The National Youth Roundtable on Legislation (NYRL) stands as a premier youth-focused advisory body engaging directly with the federal government to shape and reform legislative policy.
The YCC empowers young people to take action on climate change. A key focus is supporting Bill C-56, the Sustainable Jobs Act, which promotes a just transition to a green economy by creating meaningful, long-term employment in climate-related fields. Advocacy is continued with YPC members under our climate task force.
Youth from across Canada—from coast to coast—were able to develop innovative and robust models for the monetary valuation of climate change impacts with the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) in collaboration with ISO and the Young Politicians of Canada.
A motion by Councillor Dianne Saxe plans to lower the minimum age for participation in neighborhood polls to 16 in the City of Toronto. This was led by YPC members from Toronto and across Canada.
This initiative leverages partnerships with global institutions such as the UN, NATO, and the White House to bridges the gap between Canadian youth and global governance frameworks, ensuring representation in critical dialogues shaping the future on the international stage.
We engage young Canadians aged 14–24 on issues and topics affecting youth in the political world through Provincial Councils, placements, leadership opportunities, and the National Youth Roundtable on Legislation.
We offer placements in municipal, provincial, and federal offices. The initiative fosters direct mentorship, enhances policy literacy, and allows youth to contribute to decision-making processes at all levels of government.
We build initiative, innovation, socially driven advocacy, and responsibility. Leadership in the YPC means engaging in youth politics as we mobilize young Canadians to be involved in their civic duties.
Becoming a member of the YPC provides opportunities to get involved in Canadian politics and advocate for major political issues in Canada.
We further encourage members to take on their own initiatives through campus clubs and youth representation.
