YPC Clubs

What are YPC Clubs?

YPC Clubs aim to provide civic education, networking opportunities, and a space for students to freely discuss their political interests. They allow students to explore political issues specific to their own communities and share it across the YPC’s national network. You can establish a club on your campus or at your high school/CÉGEP.

Establish A YPC Club

Objectives of a YPC Club:

Political & Civic Engagement

Educate members on civic processes, election cycles, and the importance of exercising one’s right to vote

Advocacy and Mobilization

Encourage students to address issues that concern both their local and the federal government

Leadership Development

Facilitate activities and events for students to develop their leadership skills

Networking and Collaboration

Utilize the YPC’s nationwide network of students to foster the dialogue of youth voices in politics

Past Club Activities:

Have debate sessions:

Discuss current political issues or historical events. Have participants prepare their sides before class and present it.

Host guest speakers:

Bring in guest speakers to talk about Canada’s political system.

Collaborate with other governments, clubs and organizations:

Host various joint events or collaborate on new projects.

Parliament Simulations:

Simulate the Canadian parliamentary process, with students taking on roles such as Prime Minister, MPs, Speaker of the house, and opposition leaders.

Advocacy:

Advocate to local representatives on issues that affect youth.
