The Young Politicians of Canada proudly presents the Indigenous and Northern Affairs Policy Advisory Circle (INAPAC). INAPAC is a youth-led delegation dedicated to amplifying the perspectives of young people, delivering actionable recommendations and influencing policy development on Indigenous and Northern Affairs in Canada.
The delegation collaborates with government bodies and organizations to advocate for legislative changes that reflect the unique needs and viewpoints of youth regarding Indigenous and Northern Affairs.
INAPAC is a roundtable composed of a group of diverse youth from across Canada, including both Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals, united by the shared goal of advancing positive change. The delegation is guided by the principles of civic engagement, equality and advocacy, with a strong focus on crafting inclusive policy that honors the rights, culture and traditions of Indigenous communities.
The delegation will spearhead initiatives that align with key frameworks such as the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action, The United Nations Declaration on Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and other critical legislations and policies in Canada. INAPAC’s initiatives will be designed to further the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly #10 Reduced Inequalities and #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, striving for an equitable and sustainable future for all communities in Canada.
By empowering youth to actively engage in conversations and initiatives surrounding Indigenous and Northern Affairs policy in Canada, INAPAC ensures that the voices of the next generation are heard and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Indigenous and Northern Affairs in Canada.
