Welcome to the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Young Politicians of Canada — a growing community of young people passionate about leadership, public policy, and shaping the future of Canada!
Based primarily in Saskatoon and connected to students and young professionals at the University of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Chapter creates opportunities for youth across the province to learn about politics, engage with public policy issues, and connect with others interested in civic leadership. Our goal is to help young people discover their voice in politics and gain the skills needed to participate meaningfully in democratic life. Through events, conversations, and collaborative initiatives, the chapter provides spaces where youth can explore political ideas, discuss issues affecting their communities, and connect with peers and decision-makers.
Building the Next Generation of Leaders
Our work focuses on providing accessible and meaningful opportunities for youth to participate in civic life.
1. Networking Opportunities: We host community-focused networking events where students, young professionals, and community members can meet others interested in politics and public policy. These gatherings encourage open dialogue and help build connections within Saskatoon’s civic community.
2. Conversations with Decision-Makers: The chapter invites guest speakers, including policymakers, researchers, and professionals working in government and public affairs, to share their experiences and insights. These conversations allow participants to ask questions and better understand how political decisions are made.
3. Policy Engagement: Members are encouraged to discuss and research issues that matter to youth in Saskatchewan. Through these conversations, participants develop critical thinking skills and gain a deeper understanding of public policy.
4. Youth Leadership Initiatives: The Saskatchewan Chapter also supports broader initiatives such as the upcoming Youth Summit, which will include city-specific engagement and discussions on key issues affecting communities in Saskatoon and across the province.
Our Vision
The Saskatchewan Chapter is committed to strengthening youth engagement in democracy. By connecting young people with opportunities to learn, collaborate, and lead, we aim to inspire a generation that is informed, confident, and ready to contribute to Canada’s political future. Whether you are passionate about public policy, curious about government, or simply interested in meeting others who care about civic engagement, the Saskatchewan Chapter welcomes you.
