Ontario Chapter
With more than 300 registered members, we help young leaders all over the province realize their potential.
The Ontario Chapter is the oldest, largest, and most accomplished among the provincial and territorial wings of YPC. Through events such as Youth Civic and Political Forum, Policy Debate, Model Legislative Sessions, and Political Essay Competition, we aim to provide aspiring youth with platforms to showcase and enhance their talents.
Current Work
Academic publications on youth in democracy.
Provincial student moblization through schools and events.
Connecting and engaging with politicians of all levels.
Accessable debate platforms for young Ontarians.
What's been done?
Interviews with education workers across the province for civic education reform.
Engaging students from city to rural areas of the province.
Facilitated many placements for Ontarian students.
Providing volunteer and civic experience to council members.
We've met Doug Ford, Mike Schreiner, Olivia Chow and numerous other political figures in Ontario.
Hosted the Youth Civic and Political Forum at Toronto City Hall, with tens of youth in attendance! Keynote speakers were Jennifer McKelvie and Ausma Malik (Deputy Mayors and Toronto City Councillors).
